The History of Manchester United
Manchester United Football Club is an English professional football club who located in Manchester, England. Normally, people can shortly call them Man U, and their nickname is The Red Devil.
Manchester United was founded as Newton Heath LYR F.C. (old name) in 1878. The club joined the English football league in 1892, and they have played in the top division since 1938. In 1950s, it was the first golden age of Man United. Sir Matt Busby (Team’s manager) led to league and cup victories.

Unfortunately, their success was tragically cut in 1958. There was an airplane accident during they were flying to Munich, Germany (Munich air disaster) which eight players died. This is the reason why their logo is Devil and people call them the Red Devil.

However, Busby survived to rebuild the team. They won FA cup in 1963, and league championships in 1965 and 1967. Also, United were the first English club who won the European Cup in 1968.

Nowadays, it is the golden age of Man United again. Sir, Alex Ferguson has been manager since November 6, 1986. He is the most successful manager in the club’s history by having wan 26 major champions especially in 1999 Man United got triple champions in one season.
Manchester United’s home is Old Trafford stadium, which can contain more than 75,000 attendances per match.
